BIO
Isabelle is a visual artist who creates 3D objects carved in stone and made of metal.
Her work looks at gender through material exploration, linking historical to the contemporary. Currently, she tackles additive processes with assemblages of plastics bringing medieval aesthetics to the present.
Isabelle grew up in Montreal where she had a career in television before moving abroad to become a SCUBA diving professional. She came back to Canada to attend the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts - Interdisciplinary with a focus on sculpture. She received the Starfish Award, the Arthur Lismer Award for Academic Excellence, the Margo & Roland Marshall Award for Sculpture and the Lyell Cook Scholarship in Sculpture.
Her work has been presented in group exhibitions across North America, and currently lives in Toronto, Ontario.
